Vegetable Pakora

Our crispy deep-fried Vegetable Pakoras are the perfect finger food for the party season. Add them to your New Year's spread and ring in the New Year with all the spices of paprika & cumin from our Balti Spice Paste!

Ingredients

Serves 4 people

200g Gram Flour
15g Chopped Fresh Ginger
100g Pataks Balti Paste
10g Chopped Fresh coriander
1tsp Ajwain seeds
200g Potatoes peeled and sliced into 5mm thick rings
250g Onion cut into rings 5mm thick
1 Aubergine cut into rings 1cm thickness
100g Cauliflower florets
Water – To prepare batter
Salt – To taste
Chaat Masala – To sprinkle

Method

  1. Make a smooth, thick batter using gram flour, Ajwain seeds, fresh coriander, salt and water.
  2. In a mixing bowl add all the vegetables, Patak's Balti paste and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a wok to about 180°C.
  4. Dip the vegetables one by one in the ready batter and fry in hot oil like fritters.
  5. Serve hot on a platter sprinkled with Chaat masala.
